Prior to their 2016-17 season opener, the Philadelphia 76ers exercised their team options for the 2017-18 season on a trio of players in Joel Embiid, Jahlil Okafor and Nik Stauskas. For Embiid and Stauskas, this is their fourth-year option being picked up while Okafor's is in his third year.

According to Hoopsrumors.com, the cost of Embiid's option is $6.1 million. Joel will be eligible for extension in 2017 and can become a restricted free agent in 2018. The third overall pick in the 2014 draft is making his regular season debut tonight after missing two consecutive seasons due to a foot injury.

Jahlil Okafor's 2016-17 option will cost the Sixers $4.995 million. Although he missed the last chunk of games towards the end of the 2015-16 season, he put together a solid rookie campaign, averaging 17.5 points and seven rebounds per game. Okafor will have a 12-minute restriction for the Sixers for tonight's opener.

Meanwhile, the most surprising one here is the team picking up the option on Nik Stauskas. While some believed he could have and should have missed out on a roster spot this year, now his $3.807 million salary for next season is also guaranteed. Stauskas shot just under 16 percent from the floor during the preseason. Keep in mind, though, that just because his contract is guaranteed that the Sixers don't have the flexibility to eat some salary if he continues to under perform.

The Sixers have until October 31 to extend the contract of Nerlens Noel or he will become a restricted free agent in 2017.
