Deladelphia: Sixers and Sevens 2017 All-Star Weekend

Nba-all-star-weekend-packages

Welcome to the city of Deladelphia, where we talk about the Delaware 87ers and the Philadelphia 76ers! This time, we're talking about All-Star Weekend.

If you're like me, you only watch All-Star stuff because the Sixers are involved. Otherwise, who in the heck am I rooting for?

So, if you are trying to keep track of who from the Sixers and Sevens is doing what, then this is the place for you. I got it, bro/babe. Let's go day by day.

Friday the 17th

For the Sixers, our event is the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge. Now, we have Jahlil Okafor playing for team USA. We also have Dario Saric playing for team World. Okay…I think the last time two Sixers played on opposite teams was 2005 with Andrea Iguodala and Kyle Korver. I'm absolutely sure of it, actually. Okay, but, in 2015, we had two Sixers play again, but this time as teammates. Nerlens Noel and Robert Covington played for team USA.

Anyway, I guess you'll end up cheering for your favorite player of the two. I like Dario more so I guess World for me. If Joel Embiid was healthy, I'd definitely go World. Also, this would've been another time two Sixers were teammates. Not only that, we could've had three players from the Sixers. Ah well.

This game airs on TNT at 8PM ET. If you're that type of person with time on their hands, you can also watch their practive live on NBA TV at 10:30 am.

Saturday the 18th

Alright, this probably doesn't matter to most people, but there is a Hall of Fame Announcement. I need you to understand what I am about to say is just on a technicality: Chris Webber, former Philadelphia 76er, is a finalist apparently. Look, obviously his career with the Kings (and I guess Warriors) is why he's being considered. But hey, his career isn't complete without his time for the Sixers.

You can watch this 11AM ET on NBA TV, NBA.com, the NBA app, and even the NBA's Facebook page. It's…well, NBA exclusive. I mean, IF YOU CARE.

The NBA Development League Three-Point Contest preliminary rounds start at 2PM ET on Facebook Live. The final showdown happens during half time of the NBA D-League All-Star game, which starts at 2:30PM ET. Don't worry; you'll want to watch the all star game. I'm about to explain why. But yeah…let me see if I got this name correct…Devondrick Walker. Is that it? (Asks research team) Yes, that's it. Anyway, Devondrick is due to participate in this event so that's fantastic.

The NBA D-League All-Star game is at 2:30PM ET. The Sevens will be represented by Shawn Long. It airs on NBA TV. As stated earlier, during halftime of this game, the conclusion of the dunk contest takes place. Let's hope Walker gets this far.

Sunday the 18th

Nothing…again. Last time a Sixer showed up was 2013 with Jrue Holiday. So…I mean…you can do whatever ya want but no Sixer or Seven will be around.

So, there you have it. Let's go Sixers and let's go Sevens!
