Eagles Sign CB Patrick Robinson to One-Year Deal

The Eagles have agreed to terms on a one-year, $1 million contract with former Indianapolis Colts cornerback Patrick Robinson, the team announced this afternoon.

Robinson, 29, spent 2016 in Indianapolis after agreeing to a three-year contract with the Colts in the offseason, but he played just six games and struggled through an injury-plagued season that saw him land on the IR in December.

The Eagles are hurting for cornerback depth after releasing Leodis McKelvin and letting Nolan Carroll walk in free agency. Robinson has a lot of experience playing both on the outside and in the slot, racking up 10 interceptions and defending 59 passes in his seven-year NFL career.

He was a very productive player for the San Diego Chargers in 2015 before entering free agency and subsequently signing with the Colts. ESPN's Josina Anderson even reported the Eagles were interested in Robinson's services when he was on the market last year.
