Flyers-Blue Jackets: Game 68 Preview

By Kevin Durso, Sports Talk Philly editor

Where do you go after the way the Flyers last game ended?

It's hard to put into words what happened on Saturday to rob the Flyers of at least one if not a crucial two points in the standings. Even the one guaranteed point would have allowed the margin in the standings to remain the same. Now the Flyers are facing a six-point deficit in the standings with 15 games remaining, starting a brutal run to the finish against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The opening face-off is set for 7 p.m.

Jordan Weal has been a strong player for the Flyers since his callup and it's starting to pay off in the scoring. In his last three games, Weal has three points and has been buzzing around the net, both creating and receiving chances.

Prior to a weekend home-and-home with Buffalo, Cam Atkinson hit the 30-goal mark against New Jersey. The Blue Jackets All-Star has been scoring plenty all season, but has just three goals in his last 13 games.

The Flyers heartbreaking loss on Saturday sure didn't fall on Steve Mason, who played another solid game giving the Flyers a chance to win. He's back in net for his fifth start in the last six games.

The Blue Jackets go to the red hot Sergei Bobrovsky in goal. Bobrovsky has won each of his last four starts, including three straight shutouts before Friday's 4-3 win in Buffalo.
