Report: Kenny Britt to sign with Browns

Brandon Apter, Sports Talk Philly editor

According to a few reports on Wednesday, it looked like the Philadelphia Eagles were close to agreeing on a deal with wide receiver Kenny Britt. That no longer seems to be the case, as the 28-year-old wideout plans to sign a four-year deal with the Cleveland Browns.

Two different reports had Britt heading to Philadelphia yesterday, but with the Browns cap space, they were likely able to offer him a better deal with long-term security.

Britt had a career year in 2016-17 with Los Angeles, catching 68 passes for 1,002 yards and five touchdowns. He did that while working with Mike Groh, who signed on as the Eagles wide receivers coach back in late-January. In 104 games across his career, Britt has 4,881 receiving yards and 30 touchdowns.

With Britt on the way to Cleveland, DeSean Jackson reportedly set to sign with the Buccaneers and Kenny Stills resigning in Miami, the Eagles options are becoming slimmer at a position of need.
