The Philadelphia Phillies recognize minor league players for their performances on a weekly basis, selecting a player and a pitcher who has excelled during that span. The first pair of players to be rewarded with weekly awards this season are second baseman Daniel Brito and right-hander Nick Pivetta.

Daniel Brito isn't a name that will be found on either top prospects list for the Phillies. Just 19 years of age from Venezuela, Brito's bat is scorching hot to start the season with Class 'A' Lakewood. Through 11 games thus far, he's slashing .370/.431/.587 with three homers, 11 runs scored and eight RBI's. His numbers put him the top-10 when it comes to total bases (27), slugging percentage (.587) and home runs (3) in the South Atlantic League so far this season.

Nick Pivetta, acquired by the Phillies for Jonathan Papelbon in 2015, has made two dominant starts for Triple-A Lehigh Valley in 2017. The 24-year-old right-hander has tossed 13 total innings, allowing just one earned run while striking out 13 and not allowing a walk. He's holding the opposition to a .167 average.
