The Philadelphia 76ers ended up with the third overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft at Tuesday night's lottery and they will get the opportunity to add a great young talent to their team. Joel Embiid was the Sixers representative on the stage for the lottery and not only did he trash talk with Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson, but he also gave updates on his health, who the Sixers could take with the three spot and whether or not he still trusts the process.

First, let's start off with his trash talk with Magic Johnson. Going into last night, there was a more than 50 percent chance that Philadelphia would end up with the Lakers pick. That didn't happen, but it didn't keep Embiid from stirring the pot leading up to the lottery reveal.

"It was great," Embiid told CSNPhilly. "I kept telling him, 'I'm about to get your pick.'"

Because the selection did not convey, the Sixers have Los Angeles' unprotected 2018 first rounder along with their own, so next year could also be a very big part of "The Process". Speaking of the process, many common NBA fans view it as the rebuilding phase that the Sixers have been in, and still are in, but when asked if he still trusts the process last night, Joel Embiid said that the process isn't just what's happened, it's what's going to happen.

"Sometimes people don't understand the definition of the process," Embiid said. "The process is not just about getting over what we've been going through for the past three or four years. I feel like the process is going to keep on going.

"It's a process to get over that hump. Then it's a process to make the playoffs. Then it's another process to get to the conference finals and then another process to get to the Finals and win an NBA championship.

The next step in this process will be the 2017 NBA Draft on June 22. With the third pick, the Sixers will have their choice at some phenomenal young talent. The thought around the league is that Markelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball will be the 1-2, so that leaves guys like Josh Jackson, Jayson Tatum, De'Aaron Fox and even Malik Monk at third overall for Philadelphia. It seems like the fan base prefers Jackson over Tatum and that while Monk would be a great fit, third is too early a slot to pick him.

"I think the two guards (Markelle) Fultz and Lonzo Ball are going to be one and two," Embiid said. "I like Josh Jackson a lot and Jayson Tatum. So I expect one of those guys to be at three with us." [CSNPhilly.com]

Jackson averaged 16.3 points (51.3 percent fg/37.8 percent 3pt fg) and 7.4 rebounds in his freshman season at Kansas. Tatum, a Duke product, averaged 16.8 points on 45.2 percent shooting and 7.3 rebounds last season for the Blue Devils. Meanwhile, ESPN's Chad Ford thinks the Sixers will pass on Jackson and Tatum and select Malik Monk third overall.

The Sixers wanted either (Washington's Markelle) Fultz or (UCLA's Lonozo) Ball. Now the choice is tougher. But they need shooters, and Malik Monk should be there for the taking. Or they can go with the toughness of De'Aaron Fox to bolster their perimeter defense.

Coach Brett Brown plans to put the ball in Ben Simmons' hands next season, so right now Monk looks more likely. But Fox has a lot of fans in the Sixers' front office, and Brown loves gritty players.

Although Embiid said he likes both Jackson and Tatum, he really likes Washington guard Markelle Fultz. He averaged 23.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists for the Huskies during his freshman year and is the top prospect in this year's NBA Draft.

"I like Markelle Fultz a lot as a scorer," Embiid said. "I think we need someone else who can score the ball. I like him a lot. And a point guard, somebody that can run the point. T.J. (McConnell) did a great job, and that's my guy and I love him … I think we need more depth at the point guard position. If we get the chance, that'd be exciting."  [CSNPhilly.com]

Lastly, Embiid was asked about his health and where he is in the rehab process. In a nutshell, he spends 4-5 hours a day at the Sixers facility doing regular workouts (weights, flat-footed shooting, pool treadmill) and he's scheduled to have another scan on his knee in the next 2-3 weeks. If all goes well, he believes that he'll be able to start doing more jumping and getting back to regular preparation for the upcoming season. Embiid also told CSNPhilly that he hopes to play every game next season and that he plans to be available in back-to-backs for the first time.
