Should the Sixers pursue J.J. Redick in free agency?

With a mixture of news this week surrounding the Sixers and their future roster, a couple of stories have stood out in terms of possible free agents headed to South Philly.

Currently, the Sixers are in the midst of choosing who their third overall pick is going to be in this year's draft. It could be a multitude of players, as the team tries to find someone to fit in with Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, and Dario Saric to fill their need for an outside shooter.

If all fails, the Sixers will look towards free agency to fill that need right away. One possible target is veteran shooting guard J.J. Redick.

Redick is an interesting player, because his stardom in college as a Duke Blue Devil never really translated into the NBA until very recently. Redick has always been considered to be a role player, and never really a key player until very recently.

It took Redick seven seasons in Orlando to finally find his stroke that he had been lacking since his college years, and since, Redick has been a viable shooting option for the Los Angeles Clippers in their recent West success.

Should Redick choose to head elsewhere this summer, Philadelphia could be that option. Redick would fit the Sixers' need at shooting guard right away, and would be one of the best outside shooters on the market. He's been shooting 40+ percent from three for the last three seasons.

The only problem that the Sixers could face is his age, 32, and the amount of money he is looking for. Redick is looking for a contract somewhere close to the $20 million range, and that could eventually become problematic for the team.

However, Redick could be the answer the Sixers are looking for if they choose to go the "win now" route.
