Sidney Jones Says Report of Potential Return Not from Credible Source

On Thursday, a report surfaced that Sidney Jones could be back on the field sooner rather than later, with a source telling Huffington Sports' Jordan Schultz that Jones would be back on the field in October.

Jones met with the media for the first time following the first day of rookie mini camp and address the rumor, saying it did not come from a credible source.

Jones was examined by team doctors on Friday, and the team was very pleased with the results. Jones is currently in a walking boot, but is expected to have that removed on May 21, barring any setbacks.

"I'm feeling good. Everything looks good to them," Jones said. "I'm just going to protocol and the schedule. No rush to get me back. We are just going to go whenever I am ready."

Jones was selected in the second round by the Eagles, but was regarded to be a first-round talent until an Achilles injury suffered on Washington's pro day hurt his draft stock. If he can return to being his usual self and fully healthy, the Eagles may have picked up a top talent at the cornerback position by taking a chance on Jones, despite the recovery process. Jones said on Friday he feels confident he can return to full health and display his full potential.

"I feel that way. My hard work, my work ethic," Jones said. "I know myself and wanting to get back on the field with that hunger mentality and strive to be the best."

Eagles rookie mini camp runs through the weekend.
