Eagles Restructure Jason Peters Contract, Extend Through 2019

By Kevin Durso, Sports Talk Philly editor

As reported earlier this week, the Eagles and left tackle Jason Peters were working on a new contract that would help the team's cap situation. The two sides now have a new deal.

Peters signed a contract that extends his time with the Eagles through the 2019 season. The three-year deal is worth a maximum of $32.5 million with $15.5 million guaranteed.

Peters was previously under contract through the 2018 season.

Peters has been a perennial Pro Bowler for the Eagles since joining the team in 2009 with seven appearances in eight years. The veteran has been regarded as a future Hall of Famer and is very much the leader of the offensive line.

There is a good chance that this will be the last contract for Peters, who said on Tuesday that he wanted to retire with the Eagles and have that security as his career winds down.
