Furkan Korkmaz officially signs deal to play for Sixers

He's coming over! It's official, 19 year-old Turkish star, and 2016 first-rounder Furkan Korkmaz has signed a contract to play with the Sixers for the 2017-18 season.

In a move that almost seemed like it wouldn't happen a couple weeks ago, the Sixers made it happen and get their sharpshooter with a ton of potential for the upcoming season instead of waiting another season.

The Sixers may have originally wanted Korkmaz to stay overseas for one more season, to mature and get a little stronger before coming back to play in the NBA for the 2018-19 season.

However, the Sixers probably aren't complaining much right now, as they'll grab one of the best three-point shooters they could possibly have right now, mixed with the three-point talents of J.J. Redick at the two.

The addition of Korkmaz is just an additional positive to the team that has been lacking shooting for years now.

The Sixers now have three Rookie of the Year candidates in Korkmaz, Markelle Fultz, and Ben Simmons, as this already young team just officially got even younger.

Korkmaz shot nearly 50-percent from the field for Banvit, and almost 40-percent from beyond the arc.

And finally, after a season in limbo, the Sixers have officially signed Furkan Korkmaz. Welcome to Philly!
