Report: Sixers almost sent Jahlil Okafor to Boston

By: Jesse Larch, Sports Talk Philly Staff

On The Jump on ESPN2 Adrian Wojnarowski discussed a number of topics including the Sixers' moves on day one of free agency.

In traditional Woj fashion, he dropped a bomb saying that Jahlil Okafor was almost traded to the Boston Celtics in a sign-and-trade deal that would have sent Amir Johnson the other way. The Sixers instead signed Amir Johnson without unloading Okafor to the Celtics after the discussions did not materialize.

Wojnarowski mentioned that the Celtics have consistently shown interest in Okafor dating back to this past season's trade deadline and beyond.

The former third overall pick has found himself as the odd man out in Philadelphia, with the emergence of Joel Embiid and Richaun Holmes at the center position.
