PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Curtis Granderson started Sunday's series finale between the Phillies and Mets with a double. That was only the beginning on a big day for the Mets outfielder.

Granderson scored in the first on a two-run home run by Michael Conforto and later added a two-run home run of his own and an RBI single as the Mets claimed the series with a 6-2 win over the Phillies.

After Granderson led off the game with a double, Conforto followed two batters later with a two-run home run to right for his 26th of the season to give the Mets the early lead.

The Phillies loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the first, but only managed one run on a fielder's choice by Rhys Hoskins. It was Hoskins' first career RBI.

Granderson was at it again in the fifth, taking Eflin deep for another two-run home run to make it a 4-1 game.

The Phillies got something going in the bottom of the fifth with Freddy Galvis hitting a single and Odubel Herrera walking again to put two on for Hoskins. Finally, after going 12 at-bats without a hit, Hoskins got his first with a line-drive single into right field to load the bases.

That's where things took a turn. Nick Williams had the bases loaded with no outs and hit a fly ball to center. Galvis tagged up but retreated to third on the throw as Herrera charged toward third, not seeing that Galvis was still there. It turned into an 8-2-5 double play as Herrera was tagged out. Galvis later scored on a wild pitch, but a big opportunity for the Phillies went by the wayside with just one run crossing the plate.

Granderson continued his big day in the seventh, driving in his third run of the day with an RBI single. He later scored on an RBI single by Wilmer Flores in the two-run inning for the Mets.
