San Diego, CA — The Philadelphia Phillies (43-73) have lost four of their last five games after winning three straight from August 6-9. Tonight, they continue their west-coast trip with game two against the San Diego Padres (52-66) at 10:10 p.m. at Petco Park.

On Monday night, the Phils and Padres opened their series with a 7-4 San Diego win, despite two home runs from Philadelphia rookie Rhys Hoskins. The 24-year-old slugger gave the Phillies a 2-1 lead with his first career long ball, but Ricardo Pinto failed to conserve the Phils' 2-1 lead, allowing five runs in two innings of work.

Mark Leiter Jr. will get the nod tonight after two strong appearances out of the bullpen. He'll be opposed by San Diego right-hander Dinelson Lamet. Center fielder Odubel Herrera is out with a left hamstring injury.
