Rapoport: Ronald Darby out 4-6 weeks

The Eagles must have had a rabbit's foot in their pocket on Monday morning as the MRI of Ronald Darby's ankle revealed good news:

Darby was brought in during the preseason to be the Eagles' top cornerback. The extremely fast corner suffered the injury while pursuing a play, and landed awkwardly during his stride, rolling his ankle.

Watching the replay of the injury it was easy to fear the worst for Darby and the Eagles, but his MRI reveals great news with their being no break in the ankle and minimal ligament damage. Darby's ankle was put into an air cast and carted off of the field.

The Eagles acquired Darby for Jordan Matthews after week one of the preseason. Patrick Robinson moved from the nickel to play outside when Darby left the game and Jaylen Watkins entered to play nickel corner with the eagles not dressing Rasul Douglas and Dexter McDougle. McDougle or Douglas will be likely to dress in week two against the Kansas City Chiefs as Darby recovers.
