Home sweet home. The Flyers finally make their debut on home ice in the 2017-18 season after four difficult road games to start the season.

The opponent is a red-hot offensive juggernaut in the Washington Capitals, a team that through five games has been lighting up the scoresheet.

The opening ceremonies are expected to begin at 7 p.m. followed by puck drop.

Jordan Weal has done a lot of the little things right and has helped set up some scoring chances in essentially every game the Flyers have played so far. It's only a matter of time before those start finding the back of the net.

What more can you say about the start Alex Ovechkin is having? The Capitals captain continued his goal-scoring charge on Friday night with his ninth goal in five games. He also has 10 points in that time, averaging two per game in the season's early stretch. There's not question Ovechkin is the one to watch because he's putting the puck in the net, but Washington also has two other players with 10 points in five games as well.

The ending of Tuesday's game is one everyone would like to forget, including Brian Elliott, who finished the game allowing six goals on 31 shots. Elliott gets his chance for redemption, starting the home opener on Saturday night.

With Braden Holtby getting the start in New Jersey on Friday, Philipp Grubauer gets Saturday's start against the Flyers. Grubauer allowed four goals in an overtime loss in his only start of the season so far. Grubauer does have excellent career numbers against the Flyers, with a 2-1-0 record and 1.69 GAA in four starts.
