Sixers point guard Markelle Fultz has had a tough start figuring out how to stay healthy and on the court.

Originally reported that Fultz was going to miss the Texas road trip in three straight games, he will now be out "indefinitely" with his shoulder injury, with no structural damage.

According to the Sixers, Fultz will head to Kentucky to visit specialist Dr. Ben Kliber, and will be re-evaluated in three more weeks.

The Sixers picked up their second win of the season on Saturday over the Dallas Mavericks after playing the Rockets tough in Philadelphia on Wednesday night.

T.J. McConnell has already shown great use of Fultz's minutes at point guard, and it's likely McConnell will continue to play an increased role while Fultz is in recovery.

Fultz was drafted first overall in this year's NBA Draft and becomes just another Sixers rookie to miss time due to injury.

Through four games as a Sixer, Fultz is averaging six points in 19 minutes per game.
