Sixers Joel Embiid practiced Monday, probable for Wednesday’s opener

Joel Embiid looks to be on track to make his regular season debut on Wednesday night as the Sixers take on the Wizards in DC.

He was not active on practice on Sunday, but he practiced for the Sixers on Monday morning/afternoon.

Embiid fell down in the Sixers' preseason finale against the Miami Heat in Kansas City on Friday night, clutching his knee, and had a hard time getting back up. He later got back in the game and played nevertheless.

As of right now, Embiid will be in the starting lineup in a couple days.

Head Coach Brett Brown told NBC Sports Philadelphia's Jessica Camerato that he doesn't have a set amount of minutes for Embiid regarding restrictions, but it could be somewhere in the teens for Wednesday.

 

On Sunday, after team practice, Embiid participated in individualized workouts where he worked on his mid-range shot all while barefoot in Camden. Yes, barefoot.

Embiid does a pretty good job of causing create great concern among the Sixers fanbase, as well as wow them with his magnificent basketball abilities.

More updates to come on Embiid's condition and probability of playing on Wednesday to come once reports become available following practice on Monday.

UPDATE (10/16, 3:30 p.m.): NBC Sports Philadelphia's Jessica Camerato spoke with Head Coach Brett Brown and got his full response regarding the Embiid situation, and comments on whether he'll be having a minutes restriction on Wednesday.
