Report: Sixers insistent on trading Jahlil Okafor

By: Jesse Larch, Sports Talk Philly editor

On Wednesday afternoon Jahlil Okafor spoke out about his situation with the Sixers roster, including saying that he has asked to be bought out by the team.

Okafor stated that general manager Bryan Colangelo told him that he does not want to let him walk for free, and now Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN has confirmed that statement:

Additionally Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Boston Celtics have shown the most interest, and added that they are not willing to part with much for the 21-year old.

Okafor has been awaiting a trade and seen his playing time slashed for almost two whole seasons now. It is honestly surprising it took him this long to speak out and his maturity should be commended.

Okafor hopes to depart the team as soon as possible for a fresh start.
