Sixers’ Ben Simmons will miss Saturday’s game vs. Magic with elbow injury

Those wanting to see Sixers point guard Ben Simmons in action on Saturday vs. the Orlando Magic will be disappointed.

The rookie will miss his first game of the season due to swelling in his left elbow, per team, first reported by TNT's David Aldridge.

It is thought that Simmons suffered the injury during a play in the Portland game on Wednesday night, evidence in the video below, from Philly Voices' Kyle Neubeck.

Like Jon Johnson's tweet said, Simmons will be re-evaluated on Sunday to see if this will be a prolonged injury, but it seems like the one game is just a precaution and a day for Simmons to rest.

Simmons is having a remarkable rookie campaign and is coming off the best week of his season so far, where he scored a career-high 27 points on Monday night.

The 21-year-old is averaging 18.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, 7.7 assists, 2.5 steals, and one block per game this season so far.
