The Phillies have an abundance of infielders. With J.P. Crawford ready for the major leagues and with Scott Kingery getting close, the Phillies could spare either Freddy Galvis or Cesar Hernandez in trade, or perhaps both.   It appears that Galvis could be the first one moved.

Veteran baseball reporter Scott Miller is reporting a deal could be close with the San Diego Padres:

AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports that the return is expected to be a young pitcher:

The Padres expect shortstop prospect Fernando Tatis, Jr. to be ready within the next year.  Galvis, with one year left on his initial contract, would be a free agent at the end of the 2018 season.   The Padres were also reportedly interested in free agent shortstop Zack Cozart but Cozart would cost them much more in 2018 and require a long-term deal.
