With the Flyers entering Game 4 on Wednesday night down 2-1 in the series, it was time for some changes to try to ignite some veteran players.

One of the changes was short-lived. The Flyers had a new-look top line, but Sean Couturier left the ice with a noticeable limp after a collision with Radko Gudas, giving the Flyers a concern entering Game 4.

There was only one change to the Flyers lineup in practice, but the line combinations were completely different.

Jake Voracek was moved to the top line alongside Couturier and Claude Giroux. Travis Konecny was on the second line with Nolan Patrick and Wayne Simmonds. Jordan Weal returned to the lineup on the third line with Valtteri Filppula and Michael Raffl. The fourth line of Scott Laughton, Jori Lehtera and Matt Read remained the same.

Oskar Lindblom was skated with the other healthy scratches at forward, Taylor Leier and Dale Weise.

There were no changes to the Flyers defensive pairings.

The new lines lasted momentarily for the Flyers, however, as Couturier and Gudas collided fairly early into the Flyers practice and Couturier had to leave with trainer Jim McCrossin. Couturier had a noticeable limp as he left the ice.

GM Ron Hextall had no update on Couturier following practice. Nolan Patrick was elevated to Couturier's spot on the first line in his absence for the remainder of practice.

6 ABC Action News got footage of the collision. Video is in the tweet below:

Reactions to Couturier's injury scare were mixed in the Flyers locker room.

"I really don’t know anything yet. Didn’t look too good," Giroux said. "I guess we’ll know more later."

"Coots will be fine," Wayne Simmonds said. "I’m not worried about Coots."

Couturier leads the Flyers with three points in the series, all coming in their Game 2 win.

The Flyers aren't the only team dealing with an injury to a key player. The Penguins will be without Patric Hornqvist for Game 4. Hornqvist is dealing with an upper-body injury.

For perspective, Hornqvist is a key part of the Penguins power play. With Hornqvist on the power play, the Penguins have a 26.2 percent success rate. Without him, they have a 12.9 percent success rate.

Game 4 is set for Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
