With the current NHL season rapidly approaching its end and the offseason activities of the NHL Draft and free agency coming up quickly, the focus will start to shift to the 2018-19 season.

The Flyers announced the first preseason game for the upcoming season. For the fourth straight season, the Flyers will play at the home of their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, hosting the New York Islanders on Friday, Sept. 21 from PPL Center at 7:05 p.m.

The Flyers have won all three preseason games held at PPL Center, including a 3-2 overtime win last season against the Islanders. The Flyers picked up a 2-0 win over the New Jersey Devils in 2016 and a 5-3 win in the first preseason game at PPL Center in 2015, also against the Islanders.

While the Flyers hosting a preseason game in Allentown is nothing new, there are new prices for tickets to this preseason's game. New family options are going to be available in certain sections at PPL Center. Group tickets in these sections will be $18 and single tickets will be $22.50.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday, June 7.

With the first preseason game now announced, the rest of the Flyers preseason schedule should follow in the days to come. The NHL announces the regular season schedule during the week leading up to the NHL Draft just prior to the NHL Awards ceremony.
