American Forces Network to Air Phillies-Mets Doubleheader Opener

By Matt Rappa, Sports Talk Philly editor

For Philadelphia Phillies fans fighting to protect our country overseas, following the "Fightin' Phils" will be made much easier on Monday, as the American Forces Network (AFN) will air the club's doubleheader opener, in real time, against the New York Mets at Citi Field.

Dating back to 1942 under its Armed Forces Radio Service (AFRS) title, AFN provides radio and television to U.S. troops, DoD civilians and their families serving overseas. AFN features eight television services, all of which originate at the Defense Media Center in Riverside, California.

For fans at home, both games of the doubleheader can be seen on NBC Sports Philadelphia and heard on Sports Radio 94 WIP.
