Phillies Injury Report: Crawford, Eflin, Eickhoff, Florimon, Garcia

By Matt Rappa, Sports Talk Philly editor

All five Philadelphia Phillies players currently placed on the disabled list appear to be on the mend, with each of their statuses updated Friday evening, according to The Morning Call's Tom Housenick:

  • 3B/SS J.P. Crawford (hand):
    • Took "several steps forward" Friday in rehab
    • Last game played: June 19, 2018
  • RHP Zach Eflin (blister):
    • Threw bullpen session on Friday; will return Monday
    • Last game played: July 9, 2018
  • RHP Jerad Eickhoff (shoulder):
    • Received cortisone shot on Monday; will resume throwing program
    • Last game played: August 30, 2017
  • INF Pedro Florimon (foot):
    • Few days behind Crawford in rehab process
    • Last game played: May 29, 2018
  • RHP Luis Garcia (wrist):
    • Had rehab assignment transferred to Double-A Reading; will pitch Friday
    • Last game played: June 12, 2018

It will be interesting to see who on the current 25-man roster is demoted to the minor leagues upon the reactivation of each player to the 25-man roster. Eflin is expected to be the first among the five to return to action, as he is slated to face Chase Utley and the recently-dealt Manny Machado in the series opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday.
