The Philadelphia 76ers are meeting with three candidates outside the organization this week for the vacant general manager position. Next week, they'll reportedly be interviewing four internal candidates for the job.

One of the external candidates not listed in the original report was Denver Nuggets general manager, Artūras Karnišovas. According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Karnišovas was slated to interview for the Sixers general manager spot this week, but instead declined the opportunity.

Karnišovas played in the Euroleague, FIBA World Championship and Eurobasket during the 1990's. He worked in the NBA's basketball operations office from 2003-2008 before becoming an international scout for the Houston Rockets for five seasons. In July 2013, Karnišovas was named the Nuggets assistant general manager and was considered a a top candidate for the Nets GM job in 2016 and the Bucks in 2017. He was made Denver's general manager in June 2017.
