It's the last game at Sun Life Stadium for the Phillies. I will make this short and fast….
Roy Halladay allowed three runs (two earned) on nine hits, while walking one and struck out four in six innings pitched for a no-decision.
During the sixth inning, Hunter Pence hit a ball to the rightfield wall. Two fans reached over the fence and interfered with Bryan Petersen. The play was orginally ruled a double. After reviewing the play using instant replay, umpires ruled fan interference and called Pence out. Charlie Manuel argued the umpires' decision and was ejected. However, the Phillies played this game under protest afterwards. Will this game be replayed?
I do not want really explain a whole lot: basically good plays, mistakes, etc..
The Marlins wasted multiple chances to win the game. They loaded the bases with one out in the 12th and again with no outs in the 13th innings. They had two on in the 11th. They were 3-for-19 with runners in scoring position and left 23 runners on base. However, in the 14th inning, Herndon allowed a runner to score on a walk-off walk to Mike Cameron.
And remember this game was played under protest…. we will keep you updated.
The Phillies begin a three-game set with the Braves at Citizens Bank Park on Monday. Cliff Lee will face Derek Lowe in the opener. Let's hope the Phillies can get this series in especially with Tropical Cliff Lee heading this way.
