In the midst of trade rumors about himself, Hunter Pence still has the heart for the Philly fans.

In an interview with 94 WIP's Michael Barkann and Ike Reese, Pence expressed his feelings about Philadelphia and its fans as well as making his preferance clear that he'd rather lose here than be traded.

“I just heard [the report]. Right now. I love Philly, I love being here, I mean look at these fans. The passion is unbelievable. There’s no better place to play baseball, no better place to win, really no worse place to lose, but that’s what you’ve got to love if you’re a competitor, you love passion from your fans,” Pence told 94WIP’s Michael Barkann and Ike Reese. “You know, we expect a lot of ourselves and I absolutely love it here, so I hope [a trade] doesn’t come through.”

That's really heart-felt, Hunter, but it's not up to us. Unfortunately, business overpowers emotion and after next season Pence is a free-agent. It's not doubted that Pence will be asking a hefty price for his services after next season, the 29 year-old is a two-time All-Star and leads the Phillies in RBI this season with 57. Second to Pence is Carlos Ruiz (52) and third to him is Shane Victorino (38).

You can say that Pence and Ruiz have been carrying this team offensively all season, but if the Phillies are going to head into a "selling period" you can expect a lot of moves.
