Replacement Ref To McCoy: “I Need You For My Fantasy Team”

It was just another strange chapter in the book titled "Replacment Referee Turmoil", a book penned by League commissioner Roger Goodell. Week 2 of the NFL season has been plagued by delays, missed calls, bad calls, and many other atrocities, as the NFL continues to use these Replacement referees.

On Monday, star Eagles Running Back LeSean McCoy brought up another reason why Ed Hochuli and company need to be reinstated.

While on 94WIP's Player's Lounge Monday night with Ike Reese and Anthony Gargano, McCoy showed that the new refs are more fans than professionals.

“They’re like fans, kind of though,” McCoy said. “I’ll be honest, they’re like fans. One of the refs was talking about his fantasy team, like ‘McCoy, come on, I need you for my fantasy,’ ahhh, what?!”

Before Sunday's matchup between the Saints and Panthers, referee Brian Stropolo was removed from the game because his Facebook page showed photos of him in Saints fan wear.

Mike Florio of  NBC's ProFootballTalk  spoke with NFL Spokesman Greg Aiello, who said referees are not permitted to participate in Fantasy Football.

The NFL needs to pony up the money to get the regulars back to work, because the integrity of the game is at risk.
