LB Brian Rolle Cut

The Philadelphia Eagles made a somewhat surprising roster move on Tuesday, releasing second year OLB Brian Rolle. In his place, the Eagles signed LB Adrian Moten, who was with the Eagles during Training Camp.

Rolle's rise and fall off the Eagles roster is quite incredible. The 193rd pick in last year's draft, the undersized Rolle worked his way into the starting job last year, as the Eagles cycled through Linebackers. He played very well against the pass, and showed a lot of promise. Rolle totaled 54 tackles, 1 sack and 1 forced fumble in his rookie season.

However, with the addition of Mychal Kendricks through the 2012 NFL Draft, and the continually strong play from Jamar Chaney and Akeem Jordan, Rolle was relegated to the Special Teams unit, where he failed to make an impact. The 24 year old Moten has played in 12 NFL games, and has 7 career tackles.

In other news, the Eagles have brought back OL Julian Vandervelde. He was added to the Practice Squad, and to make room for him, Philadelphia released LS Kyle Nelson.
