Next Taking Balls In Center Field For Phillies… Cody Asche?

The Phillies apparently are willing to try anything right now in their quest for a center fielder.  We already knew that Cesar Hernandez was working in center field in case something happened to Phillies regular Ben Revere.

But now, they appear to be ruling no one out, as reported by Iron Pigs field reporter for Service Electric 2 Doug Heater:

Could Asche end up in center?  Phillies Manager Dave Brundage replied, "Who knows…maybe that's an option too. You never know."

Don't ignore Steve Susdorf, either.  The left-handed right fielder is hitting .344 at AAA.  Never considered much of a prospect, Susdorf could finally get a chance if he keeps hitting.   Susdorf is 27 years old, generally a bit old to be considered a prospect.
