Ryne Sandberg returns to the ballpark that made him a Hall of Famer. Roy Halladay is making his second start since returning from the DL. Facing him is Chicago workhorse, Jeff Samardzija who is 8-11 with a 4.05 ERA. Cody Asche is still sitting out with Michael Young at third and Darin Ruf at first. Michael Young singled to lead off in the first but was left there as Rollins, Utley, and Brown went down in order.
