Brandon Boykin Has Shoulder Contusion

BoykinPhiladelphia Eagles cornerback Brandon Boykin suffered a shoulder contusion Sunday and was limited in practice Wednesday at the Novacare Complex.

The Philadelphia Eagles already depleted secondary was dealt another blow Wednesday.

Head coach Chip Kelly announced that cornerback Brandon Boykin would be limited in practice while dealing with a shoulder contusion.

The head coach said that Boykin suffered the injury at some point during Sunday's 52-20 loss to the Denver Broncos and hopefully he would return to practice in full Thursday.

In four games Boykin has recorded 15 tackles, forced one tackle and has one interception.

If the second-year University of Georgia product is unable to play Sunday at MetLife stadium against the New York Giants, rookie Jordan Poyer would be in line to make his first start as the slot corner.

Poyer was the team's seventh round choice in April's NFL draft out of Oregon State and has three tackles so far this season.
