The Phillies suffered the off prospect Tommy Joseph to injury over the weekend.   To replace Joseph's catching in the minor leagues, the Phillies have sigend catcher Lars Davis, MiLB.com reports (we learned via MLB Trade Rumors).   Davis will be organizational depth at the minor league level.

The Phillies have Cameron Rupp at AAA Lehigh Valley, where he would be the starting catcher, if he was not on the disabled list himself.   Koyje Hill and Sebastian Valle have been sharing the catching duties in Rupp's absence.  Valle moved up to AAA from AA Reading upon Rupp's injury.

Besides Joseph, the AA Phillies affiliate, the Reading Fightin' Phils had Logan Moore on the roster to catch.   According to the Reading Fightin' Phils website, Davis is on the roster along with Moore at the catching position.

Davis was in Spring Training with the Colorado Rockies, but was released and found his way to the AA affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Mobile Baybears.  For the Baybears, Davis hit.182 in 22 at bats.

Davis was originally selected by the Colorado Rockies in the third round of the 2007 draft from the University of Illinois.
