Phillies first round draft pick, Aaron Nola, made his professional debut tonight for the Clearwater Threshers as they squared off against the Lakeland Tigers.

Nola looked strong to start, tossing two scoreless innings, before having issues in the third. He was pulled after he made just one out in the third. The Phils first-rounder gave up five runs, four earned, over his 2.1 innings of work. He struck out three and walked three as well.

Nola has already thrown 116 innings for LSU this season, so look for the Phillies to limit his innings during the minor league season.

In other pitcher news, Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez threw two scoreless frames of relief. Since returning from shoulder problems, MAG has thrown three shutout innings with three strikeouts for Clearwater.
