The Flyers had a void in the coaching staff since Jeff Reese left the team suddenly in March. This week, they found the replacement.

The Flyers have hired former Kings goalie coach Kim Dillabaugh to join the coaching staff next season.

Dillabaugh spent eight seasons with the Kings, helping mold an elite goaltending situation in Los Angeles as coach and director of goaltending development, headlined by star goalie Jonathan Quick. During draft weekend, Martin Jones, a very capable back-up and potential starting goalie, was traded to the Bruins after serving as a back-up to Quick.

A former goalie for the Kelowna Rockets and Calgary Hitmen, Dillabaugh served as a goalie coach for the Rockets starting in 2004 until 2009 and was also a coach for Canada's under-18 team at at the Junior World Cup in 2004 and 2006.

Dillabaugh and Flyers GM Ron Hextall were together in Los Angeles for the Kings Stanley Cup run in 2012. Dillabaugh joins Dave Hakstol's staff alongside Ian Laperriere, Joe Mullen and Gord Murphy.
