Finally, the Eagles put together a first half that put them on the path to a win. But a rough second half nearly allowed the Jets to complete the comeback.
It took some clutch plays from the Eagles defense, who forced four turnovers to help the Eagles secure a 24-17 win over the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium.

The Eagles first drive was productive before stalling inside the redzone. The Eagles would take the lead on a 30-yard field goal by Cody Parkey.
While the Eagles offense struggled to get a drive going for the remainder of the first quarter, the Eagles defense was holding the Jets offense to very little yardage.
As the second quarter began, the Eagles used special teams to strike for a score, as Darren Sproles returned a punt 89 yards for a touchdown.
After another three-and-out offensively, the Eagles offense would finally put together a scoring drive. An eight-play, 75-yard drive was completed with a 23-yard touchdown pass from Sam Bradford to Ryan Mathews.
The ensuing Jets drive ended quickly in a strange way. Brandon Marshall made a catch for 15 yards. As he was being tackled, he attempted to lateral the ball, fumbling in the process. The ball was recovered by Jordan Hicks.
The Eagles turned that into another touchdown, as Sproles capped a seven-play drive with a one-yard touchdown run.
The Jets would strike for a touchdown in the final seconds of the half as Ryan Fitzpatrick found Marshall for a 16-yard touchdown.
A scoreless third quarter featured the second Jets turnover of the game, as Eric Rowe came up with an interception.
The Jets cut the lead to 10 with another touchdown on their first drive of the fourth quarter. A 16-play, 81-yard drive was capped with a six-yard touchdown pass from Fitzpatrick to Jeremy Kerley.
The Jets threatened again on the next possession. Jets linebacker David Harris forced a fumble on a run by Mathews and the ball was recovered by Willie Colon.
With a chance to make it a one-possession game, the Eagles rookies stepped up again as Hicks came away with an interception to give the Eagles the ball back.
Despite all of the defensive stops, the Eagles offense failed to stay on the field for more than three plays at a time in the second. Again, the defense would cut short a potential scoring drive for the Jets late in the fourth, as Walter Thurmond came up with an interception.
The Jets did add a 53-yard field goal by Nick Folk to cut the lead to seven, but failed to recover the onside kick as the Eagles were able to run the final minutes off the clock.
