Winston throws 5 TDs, Eagles routed by Bucs

The first overall pick in the 2015 Draft showed the Philadelphia Eagles exactly why he was a top pick.

Jameis Winston threw five touchdown passes, putting together a career day while the Eagles watched their season slip even further away.

The Eagles dropped to 4-6 on the season with a 38-14 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Eagles struck for the game's first score. After a play that featured two fumbles allowed the Eagles to retain possession on the opening drive, a 39-yard pass from Mark Sanchez to Josh Huff resulted in a touchdown catch and run, giving the Eagles the early lead.

The Buccaneers responded with the game's next three scores.

Winston's big game started by finding Mike Evans in the corner of the endzone for the tying touchdown with 2:51 left in the first quarter.

The second quarter opened with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Winston to Vincent Jackson

Midway through the quarter, Winston hit Russell Shepard for a four-yard touchdown pass.

The Eagles responded with a strong touchdown drive to follow. A six-play, 61-yard drive was capped with a 35-yard screen play to Darren Sproles, who took it to the endzone.

As the half came to a close, the Buccaneers added another touchdown, a 14-yard pass from Winston to Charles Sims. In the final minute of the half, the Eagles were driving into Tampa Bay territory when Sanchez threw an interception to Lavonte David.

The only score of the third quarter was Winston's fifth touchdown pass of the game, capping off a 15-play, 80-yard drive that lasted 9:47. Cameron Brate became the fifth different receiver with a touchdown catch in the game.

The Buccaneers opened the scoring in the fourth with a 28-yard field goal by Connor Barth early in the fourth quarter.

Caleb Sturgis helped put the Eagles on the board in the fourth with a 43-yard field goal with 5:14 to play.

The Eagles would get the ball back only to have Sanchez' second interception of the game, thrown to David again, returned 20 yards for a touchdown.
