LeSean McCoy hung up on Chip Kelly’s phone call this week

Apparently Chip Kelly's apology to LeSean McCoy at Wednesday's press conference wasn't his only attempt to mend fences with the former Eagles running back and all-time leading rusher in franchise history.

According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Kelly reached out to McCoy by phone attempting to patch things up. McCoy answered, but once Kelly identified himself, he hung up.

The phone call happened on Tuesday, one day before Kelly's press conference where he very publicly apologized to McCoy and explained exactly why the trade process didn't happen as he wanted or expected.

McCoy has made several media appearances this week, and carried the same message. He considers the trade to be the past, but despite that, says that while he respects Chip Kelly, he has no interest in shaking his hand.

This comes right on the heels of DeMarco Murray's displeasure with his usage in last Sunday's game in New England, a discussion with Jeffrey Lurie on the plane ride back to Philly and a near benching for Sunday's game.

Sunday's game has been a long-awaited event on the schedule. McCoy has certainly expressed an excitement to be returning to Philly and facing former teammates, even if in ill will.

There happens to be a lot at stake for both teams. The Eagles are tied for the NFC East lead. The Bills are one game out of a wildcard spot in the AFC.
