WJC Report: Oskar Lindblom earns 2 points

Three Flyers prospects were active in today's World Juniors action — a day that was more highlighted by USA's 10-1 laugher over Switzerland and Finland's 8-3 romp of Slovakia (on a day that saw them retire the legendary Teemu Selanne's number from international competition). Let's take a quick look at how your Future Flyers performed:

Sweden

Oskar Lindblom set up Adrian Kempe just 13 seconds into their 5-0 smothering of fellow Scandinavian team Denmark — a game that saw the Swedes fire a staggering 48 shots. Lindblom also put Tre Kronor up 3-0 midway through the third period, for his second goal of the tournament. Felix Sandstrom also saw his first game action of the tournament, and had his work cut out for him with a nine-save shutout. The first-place Tre Kronor returns to the ice tomorrow, as they take on Canada in their last preliminary game.

Czech Republic

David Kase was held off the scoresheet, with three shots on goal and a plus-1 rating in the Czech Republic's 5-3 win over Belarus. The Czechs will look to advance to the playoff round as well, as their seven points are one behind Russia for second in Group B.

All seven Flyers prospects will be in back action on Thursday, in the preliminary round's final day. Check back for a further update.
