PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Phillies (6-9) will look to salvage the series against right-hander Bartolo Colon and the reigning National League Champion New York Mets (7-6) Wednesday evening at Citizens Bank Park.
Over their first 15 games this season, the Phillies' offense has yet to produce a double-digit hit performance. They would become the first Major league club since the 1968 New York Yankees to not produce at least 10 hits over their first 16 games if they fail to do so tonight against the 19-year, 219-win veteran.
Prior to the game, the Phillies promoted Voorhees, New Jersey, native RHP Andrew Bailey from Triple-A Lehigh Valley and designated left-hander James Russell for assignment.
