Sam Bradford reportedly has asked Eagles for trade, will not appear at offseason program

Hours after a story suggesting otherwise surfaced, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported that Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford has asked the organization to move him elsewhere.

As mentioned, Schefter's report almost directly conflicts a story released earlier Monday by Yahoo Sports Insider Charles Robinson. Here are the details from his dispatch on the matter

Sam Bradford has not asked for a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles and has no plans to do so, two sources close to the quarterback have told Yahoo Sports.

While Philadelphia could still deal Bradford during the draft or ensuing offseason, the sources said Bradford is prepared to prove to the Eagles that he's a franchise quarterback. He'll embrace the challenge if he remains in Philadelphia, sources said, despite being upset that the team surrendered draft assets that could have helped him.

Robinson did respond to Schefter's story almost immediately after the details were released.

Regardless of which report is true, it seems inevitable that Bradford's situation, despite being on a short-term deal, is going to be a distraction for the Eagles. With the team set up to identify their quarterback of the future in the upcoming NFL Draft, one has to wonder how the front office will deal with the possibility of a disgruntled signal-caller at the top of the depth chart. Howie Roseman hitched his wagon to the trade that netted him the 2nd overall pick. It would now appear he'll have to navigate the fallout that comes as a result of the move.

UPDATE 12:08 PM — EST

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport has more details on what is transpiring between the Eagles and quarterback Sam Bradford.
