As the Phillies have started to fall back to Earth a bit the past week, they have a shot to rise to the occasion this weekend against the best team in baseball currently in the powerhouse Cubs. The Cubs themselves hit a wall last weekend losing two out of three to a hot Giants team as well as one to the Cardinals on Monday before the offense broke out in St. Louis on Tuesday and Wednesday where they outscored the Cards 21-11 over the two games.
Adam Morgan gets the ball for the Phillies coming off a decent effort against the Braves where he allowed two runs over six innings. Unfortunately an afternoon at Wrigley can blow up anyone's ERA and the Joe Madden is pulling out all the stops with a line up full of all right handed bats and switch hitters, save for Lester.
Jon Lester starts for the Cubs, looking to rebound after getting hit around by the Giants last week. Lester didn't even make it out of the third inning after allowing five earned runs. However it was the first clunker after mostly really good starts this season.
Standard line up for the Phillies this afternoon with Tommy Joseph at first base vs. the lefty Lester. We'll have to see if he's in there vs. the righties this weekend.
