Franco drives in three, but Phillies fall to Reds in series finale

By: Brandon Apter, contributor

Final: Reds 9, Phillies 4  ❖  Attendance: 27,869

Philadelphia, PA — Phillies starter Adam Morgan didn't have his best stuff today as the Reds tagged him for seven runs in less than four innings en route to a 9-4 victory in the series finale this afternoon at Citizens Bank Park.

Cincinnati led 2-0 heading into the fourth, but they scored five runs in the inning, three of which came from a Eugenio Suarez three-run home run. The Phillies had plenty of opportunities to score runs in this one, but they ended the day 3-for-18 with runners in scoring position, including 0-for-9 when Reds starter Dan Straily was on the mound.

The Phillies continue their homestand on Monday night as the Miami Marlins come to town for a three-game series. Jerad Eickhoff will look to rebound from a string of rough starts for the Phils. Miami will send left-hander Adam Conley to the hill.
