PHILADELPHIA — Just one day ahead of the 2016 NBA Draft Lottery, the Philadelphia 76ers have announced that they have agreed to a jersey patch sponsorship deal with StubHub — the first of its kind in major American professional sports history.

Starting in the 2017-18 season, the newly redesigned StubHub logo will appear on the front left of Sixers' jerseys.

The deal — which is reportedly worth $15 million over three seasons — comes almost one month since the NBA Board of Governors approved the sale of jersey sponsorships as part of a three-year pilot program. The Sixers are the first among the 30 NBA teams to announce their jersey sponsor.

Last month's press release indicated that the patch 'would not appear on the retail versions' of the jerseys, but teams would have the option to sell them with the patches 'in their owns retail outlets.' The Sixers will do just that, as the StubHub jersey path will be included 'on all jerseys sold at Sixers' home games,' according to Sixers.com.
