Phillies look for series win against Greinke, D-backs

 By: Rebecca Serad, contributor

Phoenix, AZ — After last night's shutout of the Arizona Diamondbacks (36-43), the Philadelphia Phillies (33-45) are looking to build on their recent offensive burst tonight. That may be easier said than done, as they are going up against the D-back's big off-season splurge, right-hander Zack Greinke. This is the second time in ten days that Jerad Eickhoff and Greinke are facing off. Greinke won the last match up, going eight innings and only allowing one run.

The offense needs to be on their best game against Greinke. Only four Phillies (Ryan Howard, Carlos Ruiz, Freddy Galvis and Cody Asche) have more than eight career at-bats against the Diamondbacks ace, collectively getting 6 hits in 57 plate appearances.

Philadelphia Phillies (33-45) Arizona Diamondbacks (36-43)

For the Diamondbacks, Zack Greinke is having a great month. He is 4-1 with a 1.47 ERA in five starts in June. In his last start against the Colorado Rockies, he received a no-decision, pitching 5 and 2/3 innings and allowing three runs. In his career against the Phillies, Greinke is 7-1 with a 2.47 ERA.
