Phillies look to take the series against Mets

Starting Pitching Matchup:

New York Mets (48-42) Philadelphia Phillies (43-49)
RHP Jacob deGrom RHP Zach Eflin
(5-4, 2.61 ERA) (2-2, 4.08)

The Phillies look to win their first series coming out of the All Star break this afternoon against the Mets after taking last night's game. On the mound for the Phillies is Zach Eflin who has done wonders in shaving his 27.00 ERA following his first start in Toronto down to 4.08 and has gotten himself in the win column in his last two starts.

For the Mets, Jacob deGrom looks to keep his strong season going following his last win against the Marlins on July 6 where he struck out seven over seven innings of two run ball. deGrom is an important part of the package right now with some injuries to their rotation, most notable being Matt Harvey's season ending injury.

It's a fairly standard lineup today with Ryan Howard at first base following a decent night at the plate last night, launching his 370th career home run. Rupp has the catching duties this afternoon after a strong night from Carlos Ruiz.
