Flyers-Bruins: Preseason Game 8 Preview

By Kevin Durso, Sports Talk Philly editor

Just one more preseason tilt to go, then it's time for the real games to begin.

The Flyers enter their final preseason game on Saturday night against the Boston Bruins with a 4-2-1 record in the first seven. But perhaps the greater goal in Saturday's game is to just remain healthy.

The Flyers have lost three players in short order and as the season prepares to begin in a week can't afford to lose any more.

The opening face-off between the Flyers and Bruins is at 5 p.m. from TD Garden in Boston.

The final preseason game is often times the closest look to a regular-season roster, so expect all of the Flyers regulars to meet the Bruins counterparts.

The Flyers will also likely work on any final combinations they would like to see with roster decisions looming and lines to be constructed.

The Bruins and Flyers met just a week ago in Philadelphia, a 4-3 shootout win for the Bruins, but Boston was still without Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron and Zdeno Chara due to the World Cup. Those three players should be back in action for Saturday's game.

The Flyers will likely start Steve Mason in goal on Saturday, who projects to be the No. 1 goaltender entering the season. Tuukka Rask will get the start for the Bruins.

Saturday's game will be televised on NHL Network.
