Week 8 NFL Picks

By Denny Basens, Sports Talk Philly staff writer

Washington at Cincinnati

The Redskins come into this game pretty banged up, I think this is a game where Kirk Cousins mistakes back to haunt Washington.

Pick: Cincinnati 27, Washington 20

New England at Buffalo

No letdown for the Patriots this time. Tom Brady will guide them to a convincing win over the Bills team that upset them earlier in the year.

Pick: New England 30, Buffalo 20

Arizona at Carolina

The Panthers are fresh off of the bye, but I don't think it matters. Carolina's defensive woes are a real concern, its unlikely they'll be able to contain the potent Cardinal attack.

Pick: Arizona 23, Carolina 17

New York at Cleveland

This may be Cleveland's best chance for a win. With Josh McCown back at quarterback and the Browns playing an erratic team like the Jets at home, the opportunity is there for a home win.

Pick: Cleveland 20, New York 17

Detroit at Houston

The Lions are overdue for a letdown.

Pick: Houston 23, Detroit 16

Kansas City at Indianapolis

The Chiefs have been playing well lately, but I think the matchup favors Andrew Luck at home.

Pick: Indianapolis 27, Kansas City 24

Seattle at New Orleans

The home field helps the Saints, but it's hard to pick them against the battle-tested defense of the Seahawks.

Pick: Seattle 24, New Orleans 17

Oakland at Tampa Bay

The Raiders have performed very well on the road this season. Slight edge to them over an inconsistent Tampa team.

Pick: Oakland 24, Tampa Bay 21

San Diego at Denver

Revenge game at home for Denver spells doom for a Charger team that is overmatched.

Pick: Denver 28, San Diego 17

Green Bay at Atlanta

Statement game for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers to prove that they're one of the top teams in the NFC.

Pick: Green Bay 30, Atlanta 24

Philadelphia at Dallas

The Eagles have had the Cowboys' number in Dallas, winning four straight years in Jerryworld. I think that trend continues, Dallas has been playing well, but the bye week may actually cool them off as it did for the Vikings last week.

Pick: Philadelphia 27, Dallas 23

Minnesota at Chicago

Bounce-back game for the Vikings, who will ride their defense to their sixth win of the year.

Pick: Minnesota 27, Chicago 10
