Sixers-Bulls: Game 16 Preview

The Philadelphia 76ers look to get back to winning at home as they face a Chicago Bulls team that is on the last game of a 6 game road trip. The Sixers will be without Joel Embiid, who played against Marc Gasol and the Grizzlies. It had been known prior to Wednesday's game that Joel would miss tonight's matchup.

The Sixers lost to these Grizzlies in double overtime after leading a good majority of the game. They were led by Ersan Ilyasova who scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Embiid finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Sixers ended the game with 27 turnovers, which was a leading factor in their loss. It's hard to win a game when you're literally giving the ball away.

The Bulls are coming off of a close loss of their own. They lost in Denver to the Nuggets 110-107. Jimmy Butler scored 35 points and also had 8 rebounds. Apparently, the last time the Bulls won in Denver was in 2006, so the struggle has been real. They had a chance to win it but they went with Isaiah Canaan. So…yeah. Sixers fans know about that.

The Bulls are better than the Sixers. However, the Sixers have a chance to stun the Bulls who may be road weary at this point. Both teams are 3-2 in their last five games. It appears that the rebounding battle is where the Sixers could struggle. The Sixers pull down 42.9 while the Bulls pull down 48.9, which is second best in the league. The teams do shoot identically with field goal and three point percentage at 44 and 35 percent respectively for both teams. The Bulls score about seven more points than the Sixers do per game. The Bulls also average a win margin of 5.7 points, which is actually tied for 4th best in the league. Sixers, meanwhile, are dead last with a -8.9 margin. Then again, they've been playing well lately. Then again…again…Embiid is out, and he is just about the Sixers' best player.
